“The BordererS” … pour la première fois à Lorient
Du fait de leur venue en Europe, l’AFA avait été contactée par leur leader, Jim Paterson et a pu ainsi, être l’intermédiaire entre Lisardo Lombardia, Directeur Général du Festival et Kathleen O’Malley, responsable de la délégation en Australie, (Interview de Kathleen – Rubrique ARTICLES / ANTIPODE Mag)
L’AFA a pu ainsi organiser deux Concerts/Dégustation de vins australiens de South World Wines (www.southworldwines.com) avec le soutien financier de notre partenaire, la Société ROADSIGN (www.roadsign.fr). (voir notre article – Rubrique ARTICLES/ANTIPODE Mag)Ces concerts ont eu lieu sur le Pavillon de l’IRLANDE (pays invitée d’honneur 2014) où le groupe a enthousiasmé les spectateurs et au CLUB K où leurs Membres étaient conviés à découvrir ces musiciens de South Australia.
Là aussi, très bonne ambiance, et confirmation du public de leur adhésion aux dynamiques Alex, Jim & Andrew … avec de très nombreux CDs achetés.L’AFA tient à remercier Lisardo Lombardia ainsi que Patrick Guyon, responsable du CLUB K et leurs équipes pour nous avoir permis cette animation conviviale franco-australienne, où nous avions mis à l’honneur la présence de nos « antipodiens » Kathleen O’Malley et Jeff Goward.

Scottish / Irish / Australian band The BordererS are one of the most entertaining & successful independent bands in Australia. They formed in 1994 and are well known performers at the Byron Bay Blues & Roots, Woodford, Tamworth, Gympie, Edinburgh and Womad Festivals in Australia and the UK and have supported artists like Tom Jones, Donovan, The Proclaimers & Kasey Chambers. The band have also both recorded and played with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and been specifically asked to perform for the Australian Prime Minister on two separate occasions.
The BordererS are also becoming well known in France & Denmark and have just performed at the American festival in Nashville, USA.
Lead singer, Alex, was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and came to Australia in 1987, whilst Jim was born in Glasgow, Scotland and arrived in Australia on Christmas Eve 1993.
